South Creek
Foxhounds is located in west central Florida
(Tampa), and is Florida’s oldest foxhunt.
Established in 1965 by the late Mr. Robert
Thomas of Two Rivers Ranch, the hunt was
recognized by the MFHA in 1972. Originally
known as Two Rivers Hunt, the hunt moved
from the Thomas Ranch over 10 years ago, and
now has numerous fixtures in Pasco,
Hernando, and Hillsborough Counties.
South Creek
Foxhounds enjoys the chase from September
through February of red and gray fox, bob
cat, and the ever illusive, speedy coyote.
We ride through pasture land, palmetto
bushes, pine and oak forests, and cypress
swamps. Our fences are primarily solid,
inviting coops.
Our pack
consist of cross bred fox hounds which are
hunted by professional huntsman Robert
Douglas. Robert is the son of B.C. Douglas,
our first huntsman. B.C. still follows the
hunt today in his truck.
We are proud to support the International
Combined Driving Event at Little Everglades
Ranch, The Combined Driving Event is held
annually in late February in Dade City,
Florida. The season
concludes with the hunt’s popular, All
Florida Meet, which brings together riders
and friends from near and far. The meet
consist of three days of marvelous sport and
camaraderie during the day, festive parties
at night, a day of racing at Tampa Bay Downs
and a festive Hunt Ball.
The hunt
stays very active year round with trail
rides, work days, hunter paces and social
events. The hunt extends a warm welcome to
visitors who want to join us when in Florida
for vacation or business as well as those
who are interested in finding out about our
exciting sport.
